Alumni Spotlights

A few of our alumni

Suji Balfe

I'm currently a Senior Strategy Analyst at Accenture, where I've worked on issues ranging from sustainability to operating model design. Prior to Accenture. I studied 2A-PD (Mechanical Engineering - Product Development) at MIT, during which I joined MCG in my freshman spring. In MCG, I found a network of people who advocated for me, inspired me, and pushed me to think about how I can apply my skills to problems outside of what I was learning in the classroom. MCG was one of the hallmarks of my MIT experience, and I still take its learnings with me.

Connor Chung

My name is Connor, and I'm currently a second year Associate Consultant at Bain in the Los Angeles office. So far, I have completed casework in the utilities/energy and video game industries, and am currently in the private equity group. At MIT, I majored in course 10, I was part of the sailing team, and I was a member of Phi Delts. I joined MCG my sophomore year. MCG really introduced me to the world of strategy consulting, and I think that a lot of the reasons why I chose to go down my current path can be traced back to the things I learned and the people I met through MCG.

Christie Hong

I graduated from MIT in 2019 with a BS in computer science and then obtained an MEng in computer science in 2020. I was part of MCG + MCG exec since my freshman year, and it was definitely my favorite group to be a part of during my undergrad. I met some of the smartest and most thoughtful people there during my 4 years. MCG was a group that embodied "work hard, but play harder" and the network and relationships gained are invaluable. I previously worked as a business analyst at McKinsey NYC and as the first product manager at an ML startup, Arthur.AI. I now work as an engineer at Retool.

Tim Zhong

Hi! My name is Tim and I graduated from MIT in 2019 with a MEng in AI after graduating with a BS in Computer Science in 2018. After graduation, I joined Palantir as a Forward Deployed Engineer, and since joining I've worked on teams focusing on supply chain logistics and life sciences research and development. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball and video games, as well as listening to audiobooks. While MCG helped me develop my problem solving and client communication/presentation skills, it was the friendships and camaraderie I had with my fellow MCG members that I look back on with the most fondness. In fact my current roommate is also an MCG alum!

Sonja Lindberg

I've been working at McKinsey for the past year out of MIT, am broadly interested in healthcare and using technology to solve problems. I love playing volleyball, exploring and traveling with friends, and casually gaming (especially over the pandemic). MCG was a great way to meet cool people and practice structuring real world problems while getting a taste for consulting. I was 6-3 and minored in French while at MIT.
